Bumped asks for several pieces of personal information during the signup process. The stock market is strongly regulated to protect customers, their money, and their shares of stock. This information is requested to keep you safe and ensure that we comply with US government and FINRA regulations, including the USA Patriot Act of 2001. We’re required to verify the identity of anyone applying for a brokerage account at Bumped and maintain confidential records of our customers’ information.
We will ask for your full legal name, address, phone number, date of birth, Social Security Number (SSN), and employment status during sign up. In some cases, we may request additional documentation as part of our identity verification process. We’ll get in touch and walk you through how to send this additional documentation if that’s the case.
Sometimes, we may not be able to open a brokerage account for a customer. We will notify you promptly after receiving your application if that’s the case. You can check the status of your account in the Bumped app under Profile anytime.
We take security and your privacy very seriously. Bumped has put rigorous security procedures in place for the safety of your personal information.
