You might receive dividends from the holdings you have in your Bumped account.
What’s a dividend?
When a public company has earnings, they have a few options for using that cash. One of those options is distributing some of it as dividends to shareholders. As a partial owner, it’s like your share of the company profits.
How Bumped handles dividends
Whenever possible, Bumped will reinvest your dividends back into the same holding. That means that we’ll buy more of the same security for you using your dividend. You can see them in your History labeled with a “D.”
If we can’t reinvest your dividend for you, it’ll be added to your Cash Balance. You can transfer your Cash Balance to your linked savings or checking account at any time.
Any dividend activity will show up in your account statements (which are available in the Documents section of the app).
Keep in mind that if a company pays you a dividend that’s less than $0.01, we won’t be able to add it to your account. So you’ll only see dividends of $0.01 or more.
